There’s no M in Father’s Day.

By Nadia V. (Mama and the City)

This is the first year little M experienced Father’s Day. The one from last year it really doesn’t count since she was only 1 yo and there was not enough amusement around for her. This year, she was more concious, engaged and interactive this day and for being only 2, she was awesome.

“Happy Mather’s Day”, said the toddler with loud and cheery voice in the morning.
“Father’s Day”, we quickly corrected her.
“I like Mather’s better mommy”, she glanced at us and headed to the kitchen.

The day started with waffles, maple syrup and fresh fruit. Even though husband is currently undergoing a diet cleanse and it was his day, he still felt it was his duty to provide us his signature breakfast. I kid you not, his waffles are deliciously addictive.

“Happy Mather’s Day”, she said one more time as she handed over her Dad the little hand-made card she made using Crayons, stickers and some Christmas paper left-overs. Daddy loved it.

We got dressed, went outside and out of nowhere she surprised her daddy with a kiss attack. Isn’t this the cutest?

Little M and daddy having a kiss attack!

Later that day we visited her grandfather and went out for dinner.
“Happy Mather’s Day”, she didn’t disappoint. My in-laws were laughing at her cuteness and happily embracing her few speech changes. They, as well as we, tried to teach her it was Father’s and not Mother’s Day. She confirmed and made sure her point was understood “I like Mather’s better Grandpa”. She owned their heart right there.
Despite her mischievous errors with her word choices at the end of the day we all know that she will truly always be her daddy’s little girl.
