Looking Back

By Nadia V. (Mama and the City)

It’s been a while since I posted a picture of the little one. Mostly because of my lack of time and my recent break from blogging. I’m working very hard at putting together my own piece; my mom left, husband is unemployed, toddler only has eyes for “daddy” and I want to do it all. But I diverge.
How I know I live in 2012, Stasha asks.
Ahem,
1. Back in 2000 I said I wanted to have 2 kids by the time I was 25. Then, when I was 26 I changed my mind and said “no way” at least I had to live a couple of years more of this good life. Then, this little one arrived when I was 30! [Don’t do the math, it won’t be clear]

2. I haven’t seen this big of a fashion revolution in toddlers, starting with those cute owl hats.
3. Clearly, thanks to Etsy – and the Internet – we can start finding hidden treasures which will then be
4. Pinned in Pinterest for all of us to admire and/or learn how the heck someone could be that inventive

5. I also know that it’s 2012 because of the explosion in DSLR cameras. Which empowered a lot of moms to develop the art of photography and become entrepreneurs.

6. And following the photography talk, what the heck is all this fever on Instagram? Oh, yeah, it’s awesome. Once I get my crappy iPhone with the new one I can’t wait to share much better pictures – less blurry, more in focus and able to have flash integrated for those dark ocassions.

7. I also know I live in 2012 because of all the increasing love towards social media. Who heard about this back in 2006? Who knew Facebook would be a billion dollar baby?

8. And, don’t get me started with SEO crap (important crap, apparently) that I still don’t get these days.

9. But, I still wait until I win a giveaway – oh yeah, very popular in 2012 – for a free and fabulous WordPress template to solve all my seo issues he he (or at least a pencil).

10. And last but not least, have you noticed the change in the car designs? I will forever miss the old Ford Escape.

Looking back at my pictures I recognize how much I have learnt with my current DSLR. Such a journey learning all the manual capabilities of a full frame camera.
